Police were searching early Saturday for a person who went missing while at a lake in Passaic County, authorities said.
The person was reported missing late Friday at Upper Greenwood Lake in West Milford, officials said.
West Milford police on Saturday said the lake’s boat launch had been closed, and boating and other activities on the lake were restricted until further notice.
Trustees for the lake’s homeowner association asked residents and visitors to refrain from using the lake until the search is suspended.
“When formal notice is received by rescue professionals that a search is completed, an announcement will be given by the board,” the association said in a Facebook post. “May our community prayers guide their efforts.”
